Entry-level outdoor work on planting, mulching, cleanups and install crews.
A starting point if you want into the trade. You will be working alongside the install and maintenance crews doing the groundwork: digging, moving material, planting, mulching, raking and cleanup. No experience needed. What matters is showing up and keeping at it, because the rest can be taught.
What the job involves
- Digging, moving soil, stone, mulch and plant material by barrow and by hand
- Planting trees, shrubs and perennials under direction from the crew leader
- Spring and fall cleanups: cutting back, raking, leaf clearance and hauling
- Keeping the work area tidy and the truck and trailer loaded properly
What we need from you
- Able to do physical outdoor work all day and lift around 50 lbs
- Turn up on time, every day the crew is working
- Own transport to the yard, or a reliable way of getting there
Helpful, not essential
- A driver licence, which opens up more of the work quickly
- Any grounds, farm or construction experience
Season and hours
Roughly April through November, with winter work available. Pay depends on experience and what you can run on site, and we discuss it openly before you start.
